Franklin Square Group Expands Client Services with New Public Affairs Hire
Longtime communications and public affairs professional Rob Haralson joins the firm
WASHINGTON – 5/19/2015 – Franklin Square Group, recognized as one of Washington, DC’s leading bipartisan firms representing clients in the innovation and technology industries, today announced that Rob Haralson, longtime communications and public affairs professional, has joined the firm. This addition expands Franklin Square’s offerings to include communications, public affairs and digital services for its growing client base.
Rob has nearly two decades of broad experience in communications and public policy. During this time, he has helped numerous corporations, industry coalitions and trade associations in the tech industry navigate complex communications challenges for high-stakes legislative and regulatory battles, government investigations and other crises.
Prior to joining Franklin Square Group, Rob was the Principal and Founder of Mainstage Public Affairs, a boutique communications consultancy serving clients in the technology industry. Prior, he served as Vice President at The Herald Group and Managing Director at Chlopak, Leonard, Schechter and Associates (now CLS Strategies), two DC-based public affairs firms. Before CLS, Rob was a director at 463 Communications, a technology-focused firm with offices in Washington and San Francisco. And early in his career, Rob also served as communications director and policy director to a national technology trade association, and spent several years on Capitol Hill as communications director and legislative aide to John J. Duncan, Jr. (R-TN), a Republican Member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
“I’ve had the privilege of working in concert with Franklin Square on behalf of a number of clients over the years, and the decision to join the firm was really a no-brainer,” said Haralson. “Combining our respective expertise provides the newly expanded firm the ability to develop and implement fully integrated government relations and public affairs programs for our clients – a vision the entire team shares.”
In addition to Rob, Franklin Square Group’s team includes Josh Ackil, Matt Tanielian, Kara Calvert, Brian Peters and Ryan Triplette. The firm provides bipartisan, hands-on advocacy and strategic advice in the complex world where the new economy intersects with public policy. The firm has an in-depth understanding of the policy, political and business challenges facing innovative companies and industries. The team has developed an unparalleled network of policy makers on Capitol Hill and the Executive Branch, and they are often turned to as experts and trusted advisors on technology and new economy issues.
