Jessica Martinez Joins Franklin Square Group as Partner

Washington, D.C. – Franklin Square Group today announced Jessica Martinez will be joining the firm as Partner. Jessica was a senior House legislative aide and former Federal Communications Commission official.

“Jessica was a great addition to my office. She is known and trusted for her policy expertise and political savvy,” said Congressman Marc Veasey (D-TX). “Her knowledge and enthusiasm for strong telecommunications, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity policy were instrumental in helping to advance my priorities in both the Energy & Commerce Committee and the House Armed Services Committee. My team and I are sad to see her leave, but we know she will be a great addition to Franklin Square.”

Jessica joined Franklin Square from the Congressional office of Congressman Marc Veasey (D-TX), where she was Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director. Jessica managed the Congressman’s legislative team and advised him on technology, telecommunications, media, and cybersecurity policy for his work as a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the House Armed Services Committee.

Jessica previously served as the Outreach and Member Services Coordinator for the Energy and Commerce Committee Democratic Staff where she was responsible for managing relationships with Members and staff both on and off the committee. While on the Hill, Jessica served as the Communications Director for the Congressional Hispanic Staff Association and developed a strong network with Latinx staffers and allies. In addition to her work on Capitol Hill, Jessica served as Special Advisor to then-FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel, who now serves as the FCC’s first permanent woman Chair.

As Special Advisor, Jessica represented the office on panels related to smart communities and economic mobility and educated stakeholders on small satellites and spectrum policy. She was also the office lead for House Congressional Affairs.

Originally from Utah, Jessica holds a B.A. in French and International Relations from the University of Utah. She currently serves as a Board member of the Latina’s in Tech – DC Chapter
