Kara Calvert

Kara Calvert has been at the intersection of public policy and the innovation industry for nearly 20 years. She began her career working for U.S. Senator Mike Enzi (R-WY) and has successfully developed into one of Washington’s leading technology and innovation lobbyists.

Kara has extensive experience on a wide range of issues impacting the technology ecosystem.  Like the entire Franklin Square team, Kara works hard to understand both the policy and the politics, making her and the team unique in Washington.

Kara specializes in issues related to financial services, export controls, privacy, and health technology. In recent years, she has expanded her scope of expertise to include drones, quantum computing, automation, and other emerging technology issues.

Kara began as a partner at the Franklin Square Group in 2009, after getting her start in lobbying at the Information Technology Industry Council. Kara lives in Washington DC, but travels frequently to technology hubs around the country to meet and better understand her clients.
